For those of you who don’t know… English is NOT spoken here in Mozambique. Instead everyone speaks this other language called Portuguese. And because everyone speaks Portuguese, it is extremely important that I speak Portuguese too! Right now, I am okay at speaking Portuguese. I am not fluent yet, but I can pretty much get by day to day communicating with people.
But I thought it would be interesting to keep you all updated with some of the words/phrases (in Portuguese) that I use regularly.
Eu sou vegatariano (I am a vegetarian)
Bagunsa (hot mess)
Posso ter.. (can I have…)
Tens agua? (do you have water?)
Nao obrigado (no thank you)
Descuple (sorry)
