A woman in my neighborhood drinking water from a muddy puddle.
When I saw this, I did a double take, but to my horror what I saw really happened. A woman, probably in her 40s was walking along in my neighborhood when all of a sudden she stopped, bent down and drank water from a very muddy puddle. I was definitely shocked.
Quelimane is a fairly large city and although I can’t be certain, I am pretty sure that most everyone has access to “clean” drinking water. And by “clean”, I mean for Moz standards. There should be no reason that someone should be drinking out of a muddy puddle. If people do not get water from a facet inside their house, they often get their water from a facet outside in their yard or in a nearby neighbor’s yard. Some people also get their water from water well; they use a bucket and rope to retrieve it.
